Custom Window Display Shelving
This shelving (the black and white units on the sides of the centre black unit) was created from the concept of the store owner who wanted to take advantage of the large front windows but with as little shelving structure as possible. Top, bottom and middle shelves (shown in the first picture) are fixed while all other shelves are adjustable. We were able to adjust the currently existing center bookcase, shift and level it. Then, after playing with a few numbers, we were able to create shelving units of the same widths so that their adjustable shelves were interchangeable, all while lining up any vertical members with the window panes. This design maximized the visibility of product through the windows and from the outside, the shelf supports were almost invisible. We decided on creating white shelfs as an underline displayed product.
If you want to see the shelves in person, you'll find them at the Goumet Warehouse. If you haven't been to the store before, you're in for a real surprise! Check out their website www.gourmetwarehouse.ca

Cedar, louvered fence.
This fence was installed for a customer who owned a floor level, corner condo. The concrete fence seen behind the wood fence was falling apart and posed a safety hazard. It also concerned the customer that her home was so visible from the outside. We installed cedar fencing with louvers, allowing her to open and close the louvers when necessary. When the strata agrees to tear down the cement brick fence, the wood fence can be easily removed as complete panels for resale, or remain.
Cedar Deck Walkway
This walkway would make it easy for the owner to clean the needles from the tree and prevent them from touching the ground. It was also an aesthetic addition to her garden. Her walkway from the road into the garden is on the right, and her neighbours' gardens are to the left. A few neighbours use her gate to enter and exit the yard area. A walkway would prevent them or their pets from stepping on some of the younger plants and damaging.
Four-Level Cat Condos for a Local Animal Rescue Group
A Volunteer Project to save the lives of 12 cats.
When a shelter in Northern BC was bought and shut down, its animals were placed on the Euthanize list unless homes could be found for the animals in time. With a two week deadline and animal rescuers putting their money towards bringing the cats to Vancouver and finding them homes, Extra Hands volunteered to round up material, design and create cat condos meant to house at least 12 cats.
Tight Spaces, Low Light
Extra Hands make the best use of all resources. In this picture, some outdoor chairs hold up one side of a deck on uneven ground where horses were too short. The workspace is always clean and tidy for the safety of everyone, people and pets.
